BRIEF
To create a brand identity for the Reading University Drum'N'Bass Society, along with a social media presence across various platforms.
RESPONSE
A brand new logo was created for the society since they had no logo or any kind of visual identity in the past. The brand identity that was created had to be dark, minimal and gritty. Bold and aggressive typography was used, along with dark photography and abstract 3D visuals, created from the new logo itself.
PROCESS
The new visual identity for RUDNB heavily relies on black and white photography to showcase the aggresive, dark and in-your-face characteristics of the music genre itself. The decision for the heavy reliance on photography was also taken with the future of the society in mind, since by creating a few templates, any members of the society can create their own branded photos to be used in social media.
FRESHER'S POSTER
For the launch of the new brand identity, a promotional poster was designed during Fresher's week, in order to promote the upcoming events and meetings of the society.
Using the 3D function of Adobe Illustrator on the logo, produced an abstract structure that somewhat resembles sound waves, while also creating the feeling of a sci-fi structure, which fits well with the electronic music theme of the brand. Modern and bold typography is used throughout the poster and any promotional ephemera produced throughout the year for the society.
